Author to read new works of creative non-fiction at UIS


Becky Bradway, editor of the creative non-fiction anthology In the Middle of the Middle West, will read from her new book of creative non-fiction, Pink Houses and Family Taverns, at 6 p.m. Wednesday, November 20, in the Great Room of Lincoln Residence Hall on the campus of the University of Illinois at Springfield. The event is free and open to the public.

She will also read from her work-in-progress, Fishing for Polyester, another book of creative non-fiction about environmental crises, cancer, and the decline of rural life in the Midwest.

Bradway, currently a professor of creative writing at Illinois State University, has published many works of short fiction and creative non-fiction in literary journals and magazines. She received an M.F.A. in creative writing from Columbia University and a Ph.D. in English studies from ISU. More information on Bradway is available from her website at
