Comedian to speak on “Coming Out in Hollywood”

SPRINGFIELD – Comedian Jason Stuart will speak on “Coming Out In Hollywood: Making It to the Middle” at 7 p.m. Monday, November 18, in the Studio Theatre, located on the lower level of the Public Affairs Center on campus at the University of Illinois at Springfield. GLOBAL Diversity – the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and straight student group at UIS – is presenting the program, which is free and open to the public.

Stuart has appeared on television in such comedies as “Will and Grace,” “My Wife and Kids,” and “The Drew Carey Show.” He starred in and co-produced the independent film 10 Attitudes and has released a full-length comedy CD titled “Gay Comedy Without a Dress.” Stuart has also performed as a stand-up comic at The Comedy Store, The Laugh Factory, Funny Bone, and other comedy nightclubs around the country.

His appearance at UIS is sponsored in part by the campus’ Inter-Club Council Board, Student Government Association, and Speaker’s Bureau. For more information, go to the GLOBAL Diversity website at
