David Taylor named interim director of Sangamon Auditorium at UIS
June 27, 2005
SPRINGFIELD – David Taylor has been named Interim Director of Sangamon Auditorium at the University of Illinois at Springfield, effective June 30. Taylor previously had served as the facility’s associate director.
The announcement of the appointment was made Monday, June 27, by Harry Berman, UIS Interim Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.
“We’re pleased to appoint Dave to this position and are confident that under his leadership the Auditorium will continue its long tradition of superb performance art programming,” Berman said.
Taylor has been employed in the auditorium at successively higher levels of responsibility since 1991, and is recognized by various offices across the campus as being highly knowledgeable about all aspects of the auditorium’s operations.
Taylor will replace Susan Linn, who will be assuming a position in development at Moraine Valley Community College in Palos Hills, near Chicago. Linn came to UIS in 2003 from Moraine Valley, where she had served as director of the Fine and Performing Arts Center.
“We appreciate the contributions that Susan made during her two years at UIS and we wish her well in her new position,” said Berman.
The search for a permanent director will begin this summer.
