SPRINGFIELD -- Fred Garbo Inflatable Theater Co. will bring larger-than-life inflatable creations to the University of Illinois at Springfield's Sangamon Auditorium for a fun Family Series performance on Friday, April 18, at 7 p.m.

The stars are pneumatic wizard Fred Garbo and Brazilian ballerina Daielma Santos, who have performed around the world, transcending barriers of age and language in a seamless program that includes physical comedy, dance, juggling, and, most importantly, their own creative inventions that inflate! Their big blow-up shapes dance, shimmer, balloon, deflate, and bounce in a rainbow of colors. At times the audience can even play catch with some of the gigantic inflatable props.

Fred Garbo has been a professional performer since 1974, including stints on Sesame Street as the acrobat inside Barkley the Dog and on Broadway as the chief juggler in the musical Barnum. Whether tumbling for the New York City Opera at Lincoln Center or dancing with MOMIX in Brazil, Fred brings a gymnast's timing and an actor's presence to his Inflatable Theater Co.

Fred Garbo Inflatable Theater Co. has won the praise and affection of audiences around the globe.  In addition to appearances on international television and on David Letterman's Late Show, performance highlights include the Kennedy Center, two sold-out runs at the New Victory Theater on Broadway, Playhouse Square in Cleveland, the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, and the Hong Kong International Arts Carnival.

Tickets for this event are $21 for adults or $11 for children and are on sale now. To order tickets, visit www.SangamonAuditorium.org or order tickets by phone by calling the Sangamon Auditorium Ticket Office at (217) 206-6160 or toll free at 800-207-6960.
