Marie Osmond coming soon to Sangamon Auditorium, UIS

SPRINGFIELD – Iconic entertainer Marie Osmond will celebrate "The Magic of Christmas" at the University of Illinois at Springfield's Sangamon Auditorium on Tuesday, December 11, at 7:30 p.m.

A trusted name in family entertainment, Marie Osmond brings her warmth, joy, and the "magic" of the Christmas season to the stage with such holiday favorites as "Sleigh Ride," "Jingle Bell Rock," "Let There be Peace on Earth," and "White Christmas." There will also be an impromptu medley of some of Marie's own hits over the last 25 years, along with a unique video sharing memories from some of the most famous televised Osmond Family Christmas shows. Marie invites your family to join her own family in this evening of Christmas entertainment.

As a child and a teenager, Marie Osmond endeared herself to an entire generation. That bond with her audience not only continued, but grew stronger through the years as Marie's career blossomed into hit  records, network television shows, Broadway musicals, movies of the week, world-wide concert tours, a top ten New York Times best selling book, television commercials, lecture tours, and an extremely successful Marie Osmond Collector Dolls business.  With all her successes over 40 years in the entertainment industry, Marie's legion of fans now spans generations.

Tickets for this event are $46 or $41 and are on sale now. Sangamon Auditorium is located at the University of Illinois at Springfield and hosts more than 120 performances annually.  Also home to the Illinois Symphony Orchestra and Springfield Ballet Company, it is the only auditorium of its kind and size in the Springfield area, with a seating capacity of 2,018.  Sangamon Auditorium continues to fulfill its mission of presenting and supporting varied cultural and educational professional arts activities to audiences in Springfield, Sangamon County, and the surrounding areas.  The auditorium administrative offices can be reached at (217) 206-6150 or by e-mail at onstage@uis.edu.
