Media Advisory: WUIS oral history series "Skirting Convention"

What: Public radio WUIS will hold a news conference to announce the names of 12 Women Who Changed Springfield. These women will be the subjects of the station’s upcoming series "Skirting Convention."

When: 10 a.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, March 6

Where: Pasfield House, located at 525 S. Pasfield in Springfield

Details: The series will begin on March 8, which is International Women's Day, and continue on alternate Thursdays, through August.

WUIS received a grant from the Illinois Humanities Council to produce the series. Subjects were selected by UIS History Professor Emeritus Cullom Davis and by retired City Historian Edward Russo.

Both Davis and Russo are expected to attend the news conference, as are UIS Professor Emerita Judy Everson, representing the IHC, and a number of the women to be profiled.
