  • High school juniors and seniors with a special interest in social studies, government, politics, public service, or nonprofit organizations.
What Can I Expect?
  • This is an immersion experience in which students will meet and talk with lawmakers and lobbyists, legislative analysts, and staff members. The will watch action on the House and Senate floors or in committee hearing as it happens. The will hang around the “Rail” and watch lobbyists in action and tour the Capital Pressroom.

  • There is no cost other than providing your own transportation to and from the UIS campus here in Springfield. Snacks and beverages provided and a full breakfast and boxed lunch are on us.
How Do I Make Reservations?
  • Enrollment is limited to 60 students in order to provide the in depth experience we envision. We also limit enrollment to high school juniors and seniors because they are still considering various career paths.
