Summer Bridge Program

The UIS Summer Bridge program offers participants of the Students Transitioning for Academic Retention and Success program the opportunity to participate in a two-week on-campus living-learning experience, focused on preparing students for a successful transition to college life. These students, who are invited into the program based on their need for additional academic support and college preparation, will receive intense training and preparation for placement testing, supplemental instruction focused on study skills and liberal education, and additional programming from various campus cohorts designed to help them effectively utilize campus resources during their fall transition to campus. Finally, students will leave the bridge program with a strong sense of community, a thorough knowledge of the campus and campus resources, and better prepared to face the academic challenges of their first year.
