PDF – Has been approved, however, only a portion will be allotted for round one in lieu of budget concerns. ii. BSW understaffing and in general – Chancellor wishes to address some of these concerns with student workers. iii. Budgetary concerns iv. Student Union/ Public Safety Building – S.U. anticipated to break ground in Spring. PSB could be a long way off. v. Non-cohesive units (lack of inter-department cooperation) vi. Enrollment down (mainly online) – Overall numbers down slightly, on campus numbers up. vii. Hiring/position approval issues – Too much lag time. viii. Infrastructure ix. Employee Orientation b. Council of Councils – October 16, 2015 VI. Old Business a. CARE/ Appreciation Day status – Bobbie has addressed the budget reduction with the Chancellor’s Office and costs have been approved. i. Date set for October 29, 2015 b. Professional Development Status – Overall details still in discussion c. New Employee Welcome Committee – Email will be sent with notification VII. Chancellor’s report – Ryan Croke a. On campus enrollment is up. b. Online and undergraduate enrollment is down slightly. c. Budget uncertainty d. MAAP scholarships being fronted by universities including UIS in anticipation of future state funding. e. CLERY campus safety training Sept. 9/10. VIII. Human Resources report a. New Employee Orientation power point is available on HR website. b. New Background check policies are in place (for security sensitive positions). Takes effect October 5 for new hires. c. Collective bargaining has begun with faculty. d. Interim Director at “System Office” i. Attempting more collaboration with rival committees. ii. More position audits IX.
