National Cyber Security Month. National Cyber Security Month began approximately 10 years ago by NCSA & DHS. UIS Technology Services will have weekly topics and outreach throughout the month (posters, campus channel, digital signage, and code 2600). This is to promote safe, secure online habits. 2. Staff Scholarship Update. There were 10 recipients for the staff scholarship this year. Old Business: 1. Executive Board Meeting with the Chancellor. Discussions during this meeting included: professional development fund for civil service, the student union, and space planning. 2. Executive Board Meeting with Mercer Consultants. This meeting also included APAC and members from the SGA. Discussion at this meeting was the Leadership Lived branding and was a brainstorming session to give Mercer an idea of what employees and students think of the Leadership Lived brand. Mercer will be developing a training program that will be held on campus to bring everyone up to speed about what Leadership Lived really means. 3. Future meeting location. CSAC meetings will be held in PAC Conference Room E through December. 4. CARE/CSAD Recap. Janice Marvel won the CARE Award. So far, all feedback received about the luncheon has been positive. CBM donated extra gifts in order for us to reach 203 donations; this gave civil service employees a 50/50 chance of winning. Chancellor’s Report – Ed Wojcicki – Out HR Report – Laura Alexander – 1. Conflict of Interest. Civil Service staff is not required to complete the conflict of interest but it is encouraged. Employees should use their best judgment. 2. Student Health Insurance area is hectic right now due to the increase in international students on campus. 3. New Employee Orientation. Currently working on the logistics and are planning to hold this orientation every other month. 4. Union negotiations are in progress. Treasurer’s Report – Denise Rothenbach – 1. There are 2 smokers on the committee. The popular idea is to enforce the current designated smoking areas. This appears to be the lowest cost and easiest to enforce. The problem is faculty enforcement (if a faculty member has tenure, enforcement/discipline will be an issue).
