CSAD/CARE – Thank you very much Jennifer for the great puzzle! There were 19 nominees for the award and over 150 door prizes! B. Professional Development - $20,000 in applications. Will meet 11/3 to choose recipients. C. Staff Scholarship 1. Verbiage changes to include faculty and their children. 2. We have received the applications for the 2 winners and their thank you letters. 3. A meeting is hopefully scheduled soon with Teresa Szabo. APAC should be included in decision making process. D. Fundraiser 1. Maureen Hoover and APAC want to help with fundraiser once chosen. 2. Patti Young has proposed a Skyzone fundraiser. 3. Report back next month on decision. (Patti, Jennifer, Jamie, Alice) VII. Chancellor’s Report: Ryan Croke - Race relations center committee volunteers are being sought to participate and provide input. VIII. Human Resources Report : Ryan Croke - Contact Ryan or HR about FLSA changes with questions or uncertainty. IX. Treasurer’s Report: (Alice Seaton) - Some money spent on gift basket for CSAD. X. Employee Advisory Council (System Office) Jamie Voyles 1. Larry Curtis (SURS) attended meeting to discuss investments, fund choices, and contribution balances. 2. Law has changed to give SURS teeth in enforcement. Can fine a university if information is not presented within 90 days of an employee retirement. 3. Student Employment Pathway Program (SEPP) a Civil Service rule 4. Civil Service statutes regarding holidays, time off accrue. There are no official furlough policies or statutes on the books, changes are being discussed. 5. 2 elections held at Eastern/ UIC (election is being protested by a candidate) 6.
