MINUTES
Wednesday, November 7, 2012
10:00 a.m. – PAC 4E
Present:  CJ Castelletti, Debbie Dove, Bobbie Fults, Darlene Harris-Kresse, Janice Marvel, Jamie McGill, Dawn Orlove, Tracy Rakes, Denise Rothenbach, Jill Stoops, Amanda Winters, and Patricia Young

Absent:   Lori Atkinson, Ann Cole, Toni Langdon, and Sandra Longen

Call to Order:  10:08 a.m.

Approve Agenda for this meeting:  Yes.  Motion by Debbie, second by Denise.  Motion carried.
Approve Minutes from last meeting:  Yes.  Motion by Patricia, second by Jill.  Motion carried.

Announcements:  

1. Human Capital Strategy meeting, November 28th, 10 a.m., UHB 1031.  Wayne Stahl will be bringing CSAC and APAC up to date on the Human Capital Strategy recommendations.  
2. The three interviews have been scheduled for the Director of Health Services 
3. Due to recent staff changes at TRAC the wellness kickoff will probably not happen at the same time as the April health fair as we had hoped.

New Business:

Old Business:  

1. Professional Development Fund
* The proposal went through the Chancellor’s Cabinet with no problem.  We are waiting on final approval from union
2. Silent Auction Committee
* The committee has decided the auction will be re-vamped.  We will focus on art and homemade items from faculty, staff, and students
* We want to eliminate the “garage sale look”
* Short discussion about whether to bring in artwork from local people/vendors.  It was decided to limit it to UIS faculty, staff, and students because of the donor form requirements and the reality of local people or vendors being willing to donate their art was not likely.
3. Faculty Staff Campaign Giving
* Lisa Whelpley will attend the January CSAC meeting to discuss further
* Pushing for payroll deduction which is a minimum of $5.00 per pay period
* Bobbie will contact past scholarship winners to urge them to donate  once we have more details
4. UIS Pride Survey
* Survey will consist of 5 questions with “why”
* Bobbie will send survey to CSAC members for comments prior to sending to campus
* The survey will have a 2 week deadline.  A reminder to complete the survey will be sent out 3 days prior to the survey close date
5. CARE
* The CARE committee is currently working on re-vamping the rules

Treasurer’s Report – Denise Rothenbach 
1. Current balance is $431.00.  There will be future expenses for the Professional Development fund, CARE, CSAD, and the auction

1. Talk of more AP staff getting  moved to Civil Service

CARE – Ann Cole – No report

CSAD – Bobbie Fults – No report
 
Campus Senate – Jill Stoops 
1. Senate is planning to vote on dual degrees.  Pros and cons were discussed
2. Discussed the health center in Chicago being a huge part of the U of I budget and why no one has access to it
3. Discussed advising issues that are effecting retention

Campus Technology – Janice Marvel 
1. Students are able to do gaming now

SURS – Janice Marvel – No Report

SUCSAC – Denise Rothenbach 
1. Met last week
2. There are some issues between HR and CS committees
3. It looks like PAA exemption is going to pass

UIEAC – Bobbie Fults (President), Janice Marvel (SURSMAC), Denise Rothenbach (SUSAC) 
1. Next meeting will be held 11/16.  Will discuss re-elections processes.

Parking Appeals and Advisory Board – Darlene Harris-Kresse & Debbie Dove – No Report

ROAD – Lori Atkinson & Patty Young – No Report

Sustainability – Dawn Orlove 
1. Sustainability Days will be held next week.  There will be an art contest and electronics recycling.  Pushing for attendance at the open mic/art winners announcement on Thursday afternoon.
2. Will probably be planning something for Earth Day/Week in the Spring
