Motion by Debbie, second by CJ. Motion carried. Approve Minutes from last meeting: Yes. Motion by Sandra, second by Jill. Motion carried. Announcements: 1. We will discuss the elections at the next meeting. New Business: 1. Executive Board meeting with Laura Alexander * New Employee orientation – UA provided a copy of their orientation, it contains 107 slides. * Supervisor training – discussed what supervisors should know: employee classifications, communication techniques, policies, regulatory issues (FMLA, ADA). The UA module that Laura has received contained a lot of good information. The supervisor training will likely be a multi-day training. We would like to make this mandatory for all supervisors. 2. Display board will be left as it was for the campaign kickoff but we will add payroll deduction information. 3. Weather 3/25/13. We received 18 inches of snow, classes were cancelled but campus remained open. The liberal leave policy was not put into place. CSAC members received numerous complaints and concerns. Ed said liberal leave is always in effect but apologized for the oversight. Old Business: 1. Silent Auction/Spring for Talent will be held on April 25th. We have received a lot of donation promises. Bobbie will send an email to civil service staff and Amanda will send an email to academic professional staff to remind everyone. The bake sale will be discussed at APAC tomorrow. If no one volunteers to work the bake sale table, Amanda will do it. 2. Wellness Committee. Jill’s supervisor removed her from the committee. CSAC needs to appoint a civil service rep to serve. Submit names of those who may be interested in serving on this committee to Bobbie. (Maybe someone from campus police or food services.) This is the type of situation that hurts morale and causes people to leave their positions at UIS. Chancellor’s Report – Ed Wojcicki 1. Budget meetings went well; several employees attended at least one of the meetings. The only negative feedback involved information that the university just does not have until the state passes a budget. HR Report – Laura Alexander 1. New employee orientation has been a top priority. Progress has been made and the module is currently with Chancellor for approval. 2. Human Capital Strategy plan would like to have recommendations of priorities, Laura is asking CSAC and APAC to prioritize their top pick and submit to Human Resources by early May. Bobbie scheduled a meeting to be held April 29th at 10:00 to discuss. 3. Cost of benefits will probably increase July 1.
