Meet the Department of Residence Life Staff

We are available to answer your questions and assist you in making your residence on campus safe and comfortable.

Get to know the staff, including:

Resident Assistants (RAs) are paraprofessional employees of the Department of Residence Life. They undergo a training program to enable them to effectively assist all residents in adapting to life at UIS. A team of RAs reside in each area. RAs are supervised by the Resident Directors.

Resident Directors (RDs) are professional full-time employees of the Department of Residence Life. The RDs are responsible for the supervision, training and development of the Resident Assistants. The RDs also manage and maintain the administrative functions of their respective areas, East Apartments, West Townhouses, Lincoln Residence Hall and Founders’ Residence Hall.

Housing Representative – Communications and Marketing is responsible for the implementation of the overall communications, marketing strategies and promotional activities for varied audiences including students, parents, faculty, staff and the guests served by the Department of Residence Life.

The BAA is responsible for the financial related matters of the Department of Residence Life, including Civil Service payroll, utility bill payments, financial projections and budgets – administrative and programming.

Assistant Director of Residence Life – Community Development is a professional full-time employee of the Department of Residence Life. She is responsible for the supervision, training and development of the Resident Directors.

Assistant Director of Residence Life – Administration is responsible for the daily operations of the Central Office of Department of Residence Life.  She has oversight of the housing assignment processes for all residential students.  In addition, she manages, monitors, and implements the policies and procedures of student housing.

Picture of Ryan HofmanAssistant Director of Residence Life – Facilities and Operations is responsible for the comprehensive day-to-day management, coordination and supervision of all residential facilities-related portfolio, staff and business operational functions within campus residential areas of the Department of Residence Life.  In addition, he enhances education, social and community building program events for residents’ living environments of Residence Life.

Director of Residence Life is directly responsible for the functioning, supervision, management, and administration of the student housing and Residence Life program.  Responsibilities include facilities management, housing assignments, summer conference programs, administration of the student conduct code within housing, policy and procedures development, emergency protocols, administrative budget and financial projections, social and educational programming and community-building activities, staff supervision and management.
