2016 Brookens Library Student Research Award

Congratulations to David Seidel, winner of the second annual Brookens Library Undergraduate Student Research Award. David received the award from Dr. Jane Treadwell, Dean of the Library, during the 2016 Student Technology Arts and Research Symposium at UIS. His paper was entitled “Is the Clean Water Act Always Applicable? : What New Water Quality Standards Mean for the State of Illinois, Its Waterways, and Small Town Dischargers.” His research mentor was Aaron Shures from the Capital Scholars Honors Program.

 

2015 Brookens Library Student Research Award

Michael Lotspeich was the winner of the first annual Brookens Library Undergraduate Student Research Award. Lotspeich received the award from Dr. Jane Treadwell, Dean of the Library, during the Student Technology Arts and Research Symposium (STARS) at UIS on April 3, 2015. Lotspeich’s paper was entitled “Adherence to Themes in Rural Education Agency Reorganization Research: a Meta-analysis Review” and his research mentors were Nikki Overcash in the Capitol Scholars Honors Program and Dr. Shoon Lio in the Sociology/Anthropology department.
