Photo Coverage

The Department of Strategic Communication at the University of Illinois Springfield provides photographic coverage of noteworthy events that take place on campus. However, due to the large number of events taking place on campus, we can only photograph a select number of activities each year.

Strategic Communication does not typically take photos of internal department events, college or department award ceremonies, faculty receptions or parties.

The decision on whether or not to photograph an event will be made by the Department of Strategic Communication based on the uniqueness and newsworthiness of the event. The department will also consider whether images from the event could be used to support the campuses overall communication and marketing efforts, including use on social media.

Strategic Communication does provide occasional photographic services to faculty and staff who need quality headshots or to departments that request group photos for marketing purposes.

Requests for photographic coverage must be submitted by to the Photo Request Form. 

Video Coverage

The Department of Strategic Communication at the University of Illinois Springfield produces news and feature videos as part of an overall campus communications and marketing strategy.

Decisions about whether an event warrants video coverage will be made by the Department of Strategic Communication based on the events newsworthiness, its visual qualities and its overall connection to the communications and marketing strategy.
