A: The UIS learning management system, Canvas, is available 24 hours/day 7 days/week. From the Canvas web page, enter your UIS NetID and password. This is the same account information you use to access your UIS email account. Then click the "LOGIN" button. A successful login will take you to the Dashboard page of Canvas from which you can check your grades, change your personal information, or access the courses in which you are enrolled. If you experience problems logging into the Blackboard server, check or establish your UIS NetID and password. Contact the UIS ITS Tech Support staff for further assistance.
The Canvas site has not been made available to students. Canvas courses become available to students at 12:01 a.m. on the first day of classes, unless the instructor opens the course early.
You have not yet been added (enrolled) to the Canvas course, although you have registered for the course. After you register for a course, it can take between 24-48 hours for you to be enrolled in a course site.
A: No. Guest users are not permitted on the UIS Canvas system due to FERPA regulations. If an instructor chooses, he or she may request a guest account for speakers or other experts to join the course through official university channels.
