Orientation Leaders (OLs).
New Orientation Leaders are undergraduates. First time members to the O-Team are selected because of their enthusiasm for, knowledge of, and involvement in the UIS Community. OLs assist in orienting new students and their parents to campus. OLs will facilitate small group discussions with students and answer questions that help to teach new students and families about the University of Illinois Springfield resources, traditions, opportunities, and student expectations.
2nd and 3rd Year Orientation Leaders
Students wishing to return to the Orientation Team for a second or third year should review the OL Overview and Employment Calendar, complete the OL Application 2020, answer the questions on the application (including the additional questions for returning staff members), apply on Career Connect and obtain two recommendations by the deadlines. You will sign up for an interview between February 3 and February 26.
Returning Orientation Leaders will not need to attend OL Training for new OLs, but will be required to attend the June Training – see the Employment Calendar for Required dates of training and employment. There will be opportunities for 2nd and 3rd year OLs to assist with training in the Spring Semester – you will be contacted with dates.
