Spring 2021 Orientation
First-Year Freshmen Students:
Transfer/Graduate Students: Tuesday, January 12, 2019 4-7:45 p.m. Schedule and advising information will be available on the Transfer or Graduate New Student Orientation pages respectively beginning in November.
Summer/Fall 2020 First-Year (Freshmen) New Student Orientation
For all first-year, freshmen students admitted to the Summer and Fall 2020 semesters. Registration for Summer KickStart will open February 2020.
There are two parts to the mandatory first-year (freshmen) orientation experience: KickStart and Semester Launch. Please make sure to note these dates on personal and family calendars when planning work and vacation schedules.
Registration is now open for students who have accepted their admission by completing the Intent to Enroll form on their UIS Admission Status page (please note it takes about 12-24 hours for the system to process the form before you will be allowed to register for orientation). Part II: Semester Launch
Semester Launch is for all new First-Year, Freshmen August 19-22. Attendance is taken at mandatory events. A schedule will be posted in July. See the website for an outline of times students should plan on being on campus. .
New Transfer and Graduate Student Orientation Sessions Summer and Fall 2020
Orientation for new Transfer and Graduate Students is not mandatory, but highly encouraged. “Take Care of Business” while campus offices are open. The program is from 4-7:30 p.m. (subject to change). Dates for the Summer/Fall 2020 sessions are:
Thursday, May 28 Strongly encouraged for students entering Summer 2020
Wednesday, July 15
Friday, August 14 last session before Fall semester begins on August 24
Registration for Transfer and Graduate Orientation admitted to the Summer and Fall 2020 semesters will be available in early March 2020.
Summer/Fall 2021 First-Year (Freshmen) New Student Orientation
Dates for Summer/Fall KickStart for students enrolling in 2021 will be posted in late October.
