The University of Illinois Springfield softball team hosted the Quincy Hawks on Tuesday afternoon in Springfield. The team's split a doubleheader as UIS picked up its 28th win. 

GAME ONE (W, 7-3)
Reagan Miles picked up her tenth win of the season when she went 5.1 innings in game one while relief pitcher Rosie Bartletti earned her fourth save.

Jillian Mathis led the offense with two extra-base hits, two runs and 3 RBI. Mathis' tripled in the bottom of the first inning to send Danielle Dennis across home plate. Isabella Wilson singled for Mathis to score and UIS took the lead. 

Quincy scored two runs on a double with two outs in the third. UIS responded with singles by Taylor Zawacki and Danielle Dennis, as well as a 2 RBI double by Jillian Mathis in their half of the inning to make it 5-3. 

The Hawks had one hit and left two on base over the next four innings. UIS scored two more on a 2 RBI single by Ramsey Armstrong and came away with the game one win. 

GAME TWO (L, 7-4)
Game two remained scoreless until Isabella Wilson scored on an error by Quincy's pitcher in the top of the fourth inning. Kelsie Burrows also scored on a single by Ramsey Armstrong before the inning was up. Ella Brinkley singled and stole two bases before scoring on an Ashley Klinzing single. Rosie Bartletti later scored on the fourth hit of the inning to expand the Prairie Star lead. 

UIS took its 4-0 lead into the top of the seventh inning where the Hawks put together three hits and seven runs. The Prairie Stars defense's three errors all came from the final inning. Rosie Bartletti (5-4) came away with the loss. 

In its final weekend at home UIS will host Rockhurst on Friday for Alumni Day and William Jewell on Sunday for Senior Day.
