Career Highlights

“After serving in the U.S. Army as a Military Policeman, I worked for several years as a police officer. One day the Mayor of that city suggested that I consider a career in city administration because he said that I ‘look at things differently.’ He encouraged me to pursue my M.P.A. I did, and went on to serve the State of Illinois as the CEO of Correctional Industries and Deputy Director of DCEO. I then became the City Manager for Washington, IL. I’m very proud of the community and how we pulled through the devastating tornado of 2013. I received a Governor’s appointment to the Illinois Law Enforcement Training & Standards Board in 2013.”

“I have several fond memories of the weekend courses. Friday evening through Sunday evening. Long weekends, but were some of the best classes that I had. The blend of full-time students along with students like myself (working full-time) offered tremendous benefits to the overall experience.”
