The University of Illinois Springfield softball team earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament. They were selected as the No. 5 seed, and are set to play No. 4  Lewis on Thursday in Indianapolis, Ind. 

The Lewis University Flyers upset Indianapolis to become the GLVC Champions and receive an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament. The Prairie Stars (33-22, 14-10 GLVC), were eliminated in two losses at the GLVC Championship Tournament. They were ranked fourth in the last regional ranking before conference.

Midwest 2 Region at Allendale, Michigan

The 64-team bracket was announced by the NCAA via selection show on Monday morning. Double elimination regional tournaments will be held May 11-13 at 16 regional host schools. Indianapolis will host the Midwest Regional at Greyhound Park/ Baumgartner Field on their campus. All tickets are available at the North and South gates of the facility, and ticket sales will be cash only. Adults $10 | Children Under 12, Students & Military $5.

The Super Regional Round is slated for May 18-19, then the NCAA Championship will take place in Chatanooga, Tenn. on May 25-31.
