“The most rewarding part of my job is seeing a bill that I worked on become law. I have had the opportunity to be a part of several policy changes that I believe have and will help Illinoisans.”

Memories of UIS

“At UIS there is never a shortage of opportunities to become involved. Some of my most fond memories center around participating in student clubs and organizations. For obvious reasons, I was active in a handful of political clubs on campus. But in addition to that, I loved the community I received while I was involved in Christian Student Fellowship –CSF.”

How did UIS change or prepare you?

“As a political science major, I was required to complete an internship in my field of study. This was one of the wisest things I could have done to jump start my career. I interned with a local lobbying agency and experienced state government first hand. That internship is why I pursued my career today.”

Interesting Fact

“I’m a pilot! I pursued my second love, flying, and received my pilots license. I can now say that if I am not at the Capitol working – I am likely somewhere in the sky.”
