“Being a member of the men’s basketball team and being named player of the week in 2011. I also was able to make some lifetime friends that I still stay in touch with.”

How did UIS change or prepare you?

“Being a student athlete at UIS gave the tools to manage my time effectively. In order to excel on the court and in the classroom I had to figure out how to accommodate everything on my schedule. In addition, it gave the tools to learn how to manage relationships and work with a team. Those same skills were transferable professionally. In my current role, I have to manage a group of 15 in addition to have other responsibilities. Managing my time in addition to my strong project management skills obtained at UIS allow me to do my job well.”

“I am a huge sneaker head! I own over 100 pairs of sneakers. I have everything from Jordan’s, Yeezy’s, Off Whites and other shoes as well.”
