Memories of UIS
I found my husband and three bridesmaids/best friends at UIS, and I couldn’t be more grateful for my memories with them in college. The little things like going to the mall with my friends, exploring downtown Springfield, playing basketball with my now husband, participating in Springfest, getting smoothies from TRAC are all memorable.
How did UIS change or prepare you?
I found my confidence at UIS because I felt like I belonged there. I had the opportunity to have a paper published in the Continuum journal and collaborate with a professor on a research project, which were fundamental to my professional growth. I have not let go of that confidence and it has helped me succeed in my career.
I love to read. “Wuthering Heights” is one of my favorite books. I also love to cook and have finally learned how to make my grandma’s pierogies (Polish dumplings) and Kolaczki cookies.
