More about Dr. Lim:
Hana Lim is an avid pianist, and also an experienced teacher. She served as a teaching assistant at Central Washington University and has instructed piano lessons in Champaign School of Music since 2016. Ms. Lim started her professional piano studies since she was 12. She attended Sunhwa Art School in Seoul (South Korea) and studied with Sook Ryun Park. She moved to Canada in 2003, and broadened her piano career by attending Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. She continued studying at Eastman School of Music under Rebecca Penneys for BM degree, and completed MM degree at University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) under Logan Skelton. She entered DMA program at University of Illinois Urbana – Champaign as a recipient of Langford Fellowship and received Ross Fellowship in the following year. Currently, she is a student of Ian Hobson and completed her DMA this summer (2019).
Ms. Lim is the winner of Presentation Society Competition, Sinfonia da Camera Concerto Competition, and Summer Institute Piano Concerto Competition. Also, she won numerous prizes from Southern Illinois Young Artist Organization Competition, Canadian Music Competition, Canadian National Provincial Round, Misbin Chamber Competition, and American Prize Competition.
As an active musician, she has participated in various international festivals such as, Chautauqua Music Festival, Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival, Great Mountain Music Festival and School. She received masterclasses from renowned musicians including John Perry, Tim Eddy, Marc Durand, Soojung Shin, Hyungjoon Chang, Vadim Monastyrski, and Martin Katz. Moreover, she formed Meliora Trio in 2016, and has performed throughout North America and South Korea as a soloist and chamber musician.
