UIS Alumni with a UIS awarded degree and currently enrolled students who do not have a NACES evaluation on file will not be required to submit a NACES member evaluation. Please note that a NACES member evaluations cannot be submitted in order to “update” a GPA.
Extraordinary admission instances, such as educational strikes, applicants that identify as a ‘refugee’ or ‘asylee’, etc. will be handled on a case-by-case basis. Please contact email@example.com in order to determine next steps with a formal request including a full description of the circumstances and any available supporting documentation.
Applicants applying to UIS from an International Baccalaureate Institution, Council of International Schools member institution (utilizing US National Curriculum), US State Dept. Assisted Schools, or institution holding US Regional Accreditation will not be required to submit a NACES evaluation as UIS recognizes that the institution utilizes an American-based curriculum.
Evaluation of International Credentials
The Office of Admission uses the evaluations provided in order to establish GPAs, verify the accreditation of the institutions where applicants previously obtained degrees, and to benchmark completed coursework in order to establish if applicants have met their intended programs prerequisites. An applicant will not be have their application evaluated and an admission decision issued without submitting the correct evaluation type for a transfer application.

Completed applications should be received 3 months prior to the intended enrollment date to accommodate necessary processing time and the issuance of the required Form I-20. Suggested primary review dates:
Fall Term (August) Advisory Deadline: June 1st
Spring Term (January) Advisory Deadline: Nov 1st
Summer Term (Athletic Training Only): April 1st
