Guidelines for Faculty and Staff on COVID-19 Related Absences
As of March 18, 2020
These guidelines apply to UIS employees who:
- have traveled internationally since Feb. 25, 2020, or domestically since March 13, 2020; or
- have been exposed to someone else diagnosed with Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19); or
- have been diagnosed with Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19).
Most UIS employees have been instructed to work from home if possible. To the extent you need to work on-site or travel to campus, consider the safety implications in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The travel notices issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) continue to evolve based on the nature of the COVID-19 outbreak. If you have traveled during the timeframes specified above, please read the CDC COVID-19 Travel Notices for current information.
If these Guidelines for Faculty and Staff on COVID-19 Related Absences apply to you, please contact your immediate supervisor and Human Resources before returning to campus. Human Resources can be contacted by calling (217) 206-6652 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
If an employee experiences COVID-19 symptoms at any point, they should immediately consult a medical care provider and begin using sick time.
