Are you looking for a way to connect with other UIS community members while practicing social distancing? Please join us for the Queers and Allies Chat ‘N Snack on Zoom Chat every Thursday at 5:30pm starting April 15, 2020.
This chat is a new support and dialogue group that provides a safe, confidential space to chat with LGBTQIA+ and friendly heterosexual/cisgender students. We will chat in a confidential setting about fun and informative topics and offer Queer-friendly support, ideas, and resources to address our community members’ experiences and concerns about COVID-19, online learning, social distancing, and other issues in a Queer-supportive context.
If you would prefer a confidential individual conversation and would like to chat with us one on one, please email GSSS Director Kerry Poynter: firstname.lastname@example.org or GSSS Graduate Assistant Sara-Ann Rosen: email@example.com to schedule a private meeting on Zoom Chat, M-F, 9AM-5PM.
Please check out our new resource page, “Queer Resources During Corona” here: http://go.uis.edu/lgbtqcorona to learn about Queer-friendly resources and services, coping strategies, and legal rights. We will continue to add resources and information as they become available.
Participants agree to only allow UIS affiliates (students and employees) to join the chat and that all dialogue will be kept confidential. All participants will be automatically authenticated by UIS before log in.
