Student Mentor Program
Join the Mentor Program for New (and returning) LGBTQIA+ UIS Students
Don’t be a “Missed Connection.” Develop a network of friends at UIS. Learn about campus resources. Find a safe student community. Attend free events. Get support. Network and mingle… or even find a new boo!
Upperclassmen serve as mentors to new students and everyone attends various free social events together during the Fall semester on campus or in the community. The goal of the mentor program is for students to feel connected to campus culture, get introduced to LGBTQIA+ student communities in a safe productive way, find emotional support of their identities, and learn about campus resources to support their education that will help lead to a successful first year at UIS. All students, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, are welcome to join this program!
Participation is free and any group event costs are covered by the office.
