The Exercise Science (EXR) Program uses a Shared Model of advising. As an EXR major you will have two advisors – a faculty member and a professional advisor.

Students will be assigned an EXR faculty member to serve as your faculty advisor. In addition, Craig McFarland will be the professional advisor for all EXR majors. As the department’s professional advisor, Craig will be one of the first points of contact for any questions you may have regarding the EXR program at UIS. You will work with him regarding class choices and registration, analysis of your degree audits and other important functions. He can also assist with referrals to other UIS offices and resources.

You should meet with your academic advisor(s) at least once each semester to plan courses for the next semester, as this will ensure the students are on track to meet their graduation goals. Send Craig an email or book an appointment as needed.
