14th Emiquon Science Symposium
The 14th Annual Science Symposium will take place as a virtual symposium. While it is disappointing that the current covid-19 situation is preventing an in-person meeting, we are excited to explore other options for hosting a meeting and potentially reaching a wider audience. This one-day meeting will provide researchers a chance to share the results of their projects related to the Emiquon Restoration, and other prairie, river, and floodplain systems.
When: April 8, 2020. The “doors” will open at 9:00 am, with the Keynote beginning soon after. The official schedule and more details will be released as the meeting approaches.
Presentations: Abstracts are now being accepted (300 word limit). Oral Presentations will consist of a 15 minute talk, with 5 minutes for questions. A new addition this year will be Lightning Talks. Our vision is that these will be short (no more than 5 minutes) and informal (slides are welcome), focused on ideas, pilot work, or interesting observations, which eventually lead to a larger research project or collaboration. Everyone is encouraged to share their research. The deadline for submitting an abstract is March 27, 2020.
Keynote Speaker: Dr. Jim Angel, former Illinois State Climatologist
Registration: Registration is now open. While there is no charge for attending the Symposium, accurate estimates help us with planning, so please register if you plan to attend.
Abstract Submission: Abstract submission is now open.
