Bio: Kevin A. Catlin is a native of Elgin, IL and started his career in state government through a graduate public service internship. He was employed with the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT). He was later promoted to a full-time position serving the disadvantaged business enterprises community of IDOT. Catlin decided to pursue a career in local government and jump-started his journey through a local government management fellowship sponsored by the International City/County Management Association (ICMA). He first served as a fellow for the City of Tulsa, OK where he managed public safety projects, labor relations, and IT operations. He later accepted employment as Assistant City Manager/Director of IT for the City of Brookings, SD. Catlin currently serves as the City Manager of Springfield, MI where he is responsible for the daily operations of all municipal government operations, including planning & zoning, economic development, human resources, finance, IT, law enforcement, public works, and council and community relations.
