Professional Development Funding

The Civil Service Advisory Council (CSAC) is pleased to announce that Chancellor Susan Koch has made FY 2020 funding available to assist Civil Service Employees (CS) at UIS with professional development. Each status CS employee employed at least 50% time may apply for up to $1200 for use toward any aspect of professional development during the FY 2020 award year (September 1, 2019- June 30, 2020). Examples include subscriptions to journals, conference and meeting registration, conference travel, workshops, and online training materials. We have provided some links to popular trainings from last year below.

Professional Development Application

The Professional Development Applications will be reviewed and granted by members of your elected Civil Service Advisory Council.

Applications must be received by 5:00 pm August 23, 2019. Applications may be sent through campus mail to Jo Barnard (MS BRK 140), hand-delivered applications may be brought to BRK 204, and electronic applications may be emailed to (Electronic applications must include the applicant’s signature and the supervisor’s signature; therefore, applications submitted electronically should be completed, printed, signed, and then scanned. Scanned electronic versions must be emailed in a PDF format. Electronic applications without the appropriate signature(s) will not be accepted).
