Thank you to all faculty and staff who are finding creative and flexible ways to continue the work of the University during these challenging times. The purpose of this email is to provide some important updates, information and reminders that may assist you as we move forward.
Families First Coronavirus Response Act
Effective April 1, 2020, the Families First Coronavirus Response Act creates the Emergency Paid Sick Leave Act and amends the Family Medical Leave Act to protect families and workers during the COVID-19 outbreak. Please visit the University of Illinois System Human Resources website for more information.
Stay-at-Home Order Extended; Resources for Remote Work and Remote Supervision
Gov. Pritzker has extended the stay-at-home order until April 30th. Employees should continue working remotely as instructed by their supervisors and practicing social distancing if on campus. Working and supervising remotely can present a new set of challenges. HR is here to help! Please visit the Human Resources website for Resources for Remote Work and Remote Supervision. As always, please reach out to us at email@example.com if you need specific assistance or advice on your remote working arrangements.
Employee Assistance Program
Many of us are experiencing significant changes and disruptions to our home and work lives during this unprecedented time, which can lead to additional stress. Faculty and staff who are enrolled in a university employee health plan qualify for the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) through Magellan. Magellan offers counseling services on a wide range of health-related topics such as anxiety, stress, domestic violence, parenting, alcohol/drugs, etc. We encourage you to take advantage of this valuable resource. More information can be found at Employee Assistance Program.
