Infographics Overview

Infographics, or information graphics, is graphic or visual representation of data, information, or knowledge. They allow us to present complex information quickly and clearly.  The best infographics also tell a story.

One thing to remember with infographics, as with course design, is to break the information down into chunks, or digestible bites of information.

Another benefit of infographics is that they can easily be shared.  When you share an infographic, you need to be sure it is accessible. View the UIS Infographic Accessibility Guide.

Main Components of Infographics

  • Visual (graphics and colors)
  • Content (facts, data, statistics)
  • Knowledge (analysis of the data)
