The UIS Career Development Center offers our Employer Spotlight to employers who recruit UIS students. This Employer Spotlight serves to better educate and prepare students for future career opportunities. Students will be able to learn about a featured employer and the internship/career opportunities they offer. Students will also be able to engage with some of the featured employers at our career fairs/expos.

How would you describe your organization’s dynamics or workplace culture? What would you like potential applicants to know about the day to day operations and workflow within your environment?
Sales Associates will assist customers at the store and over the phone by determining needs and recommending appropriate products and services. This involves providing a great customer experience to all customer types- including homeowners and contractors by making product/color/ application recommendations based on the customer’s specific project needs. You will received paid training. You will also have to pull the appropriate products from the sales floor/warehouse, and tint and mix them according to customer specifications- working hands on with paint products. Responsibilities also include preparing customer orders for pick-up or delivery, maintaining store cleanliness, and assisting in warehouse duties- unloading trucks and stocking merchandise. This job is fast paced, active, and physically demanding; you will be unloading pallets and on your feet most of the day helping customers, lifting boxes and paint buckets, up to 50 lbs. However, we have equipment, such as dollies and pallet jacks, in the store to help you maneuver them.
