Maddy Barnes ’15
Major: Human Services
Hometown: Quincy, Illinois
Future Plans: Manage a hospital or certify daycare programs
Maddy Barnes has learned many lessons about life and leadership while attending the University of Illinois Springfield. She chose UIS because of the personal attention provided by faculty and the NCAA Division II athletics program. Living on campus, she joined the Resident Housing Association where she was a voice for students in the residence halls and helped plan events on campus. A year later, she took on an even greater leadership role as a Resident Assistant (RA). Barnes earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from UIS in 2013 and is now pursuing her master’s degree in human services.
Leadership is lived at UIS. Every day.
