Kelsey Marucco ‘19

Hometown: Taylorville, Illinois
Major: Education & Psychology
Future Plans: Become an elementary teacher

Kelsey Marucco was inspired by her fourth grade teacher. That inspiration turned into a passion for helping others, which led her to major in education and psychology at the University of Illinois Springfield. Marucco is now only a few steps away from becoming an elementary school teacher. On campus, she is heavily involved as a member of the Capital Scholars Honors Program and the Tri Sigma Sorority. She also works for UIS Campus Recreation and at the Cox Children’s Center on campus. She is a member of the Kappa Delta Phi educational honor society, the Psi Chi honor society and recently served as the public relations and social media chair for Dance Marathon, a UIS fundraiser for the Children’s Miracle Network. Following graduation from UIS, she would like to work at a smaller elementary school in central Illinois and possibly coach an athletic team.

Leadership is lived at UIS. Every day.
