Natalie Kerr got a chance to present her research in Berlin, Germany after being named the Falling Walls Lab Illinois Young Innovator of the Year. On campus, she is president of The Research Society and plays violin as a Camerata Music Scholar. Recently, she was named the NPR Illinois/UIS Music Musician of the Year and won the UIS Music Solo competition.
International student Rory Carlson chose the University of Illinois Springfield because he loved the campus, its great academic programs and wanted to play NCAA Division II men’s soccer. During the 2018 season, he tied for third among UIS Division II single-season leaders with four assists and started in 15 matches. On campus, Carlson is a member of the Capital Scholars Honors Program and the Chemistry Club.
