I was drawn to this internship opportunity at Jenner Ag because it was were I was currently working. The internship office at UIS is very accommodating to internships at current employers, as long as the internship is a new learning experience that relates to the field of study. I was fortunate that my employer was willing to do whatever was needed to insure that I was getting the most out of my internship.
Having a focus in management, the main emphasis of the internship was to work with all the department managers, store manager, as well as the CEO and owner of the company. By spending time with all levels of management I was able to see how management functions as a whole, and then functions hands-on in a business. The internship allowed me to perform many of the different managerial tasks and to gain the ability to understand how a business operates.
