Memories of SSU/UIS 
“Taking classes with founding SSU president Robert Spencer and later receiving the Robert C. Spencer Award for Citizenship; being named Board of Regents Scholar in 1988; studying in Brookens Library and making new friends who had similar interests. Non-favorite moment: walking across the ‘tundra’ in January on the way to class.”

How did UIS change or prepare you?
“It put me right in the heart of the action at the Capitol very early on through the Applied Study program and internships. Practical politics and government classes mixed well to prepare me for a career at the Capitol.”

Favorite Team, Favorite People
“I love baseball and following the St. Louis Cardinals and going to my kid’s sports activities. I’m blessed to have the best wife and kids in the world and many supportive friends.”
