Current Position
Assistant City Manager for the City of Humble, Texas

Career Highlights
“Working in city management presents a lot of unique opportunities, challenges and chicken dinners, but by far the coolest thing I get to do is administer the Oath of Office to our City Council and sworn law enforcement officers. It may not sound like a big deal but ultimately, I am – on behalf of our voters and residents – entrusting that individual taking the oath to lead and serve our community to the best of their ability.”

Memories of SSU/UIS
“I was very fortunate to have so many moments to savor, from being part of the first class of Capital Scholars, to being Student Body President, to announcing too many Prairie Stars soccer, basketball, and baseball games to count. However, the lifelong relationships and bonds that were made with some truly amazing people are what I carry with me to this day.”

How did UIS change or prepare you?
“UIS prepared me to think critically about issues and be open to various viewpoints. The decisions that are made when managing cities can have a significant impact on the everyday lives of our residents; this demands that you not only ask the difficult questions, but also listen to and consider alternative ideas and solutions – sometimes even the crazy ones.”

Personal Note
“I am looking forward to starting my new job as “Dad,” as my wife Lindsay and I welcomed Caden Robert, our first baby boy, born on August 2, 2014.”
