Staying  Active with UIS

A good way for UIS Alumni to stay current with what’s going on at UIS is through the various programs, events and resource opportunities offered through UIS Alumni Relations. Whether you’re returning to campus for Homecoming, purchasing an Official Ring of UIS or watching an event at Sangamon Auditorium, there are many ways to stay active with your Alma Mater through the Alumni Association. We encourage your involvement and hope to see or hear from you.

UIS Alumni Gala

The UIS Alumni Gala celebrates UIS alumni and friends who have impacted the world and exemplify Leadership lived. In addition to excellent food and a chance to catch up with other alumni, the event honors recipients of the UIS Alumni Achievement, Alumni Humanitarian and Distinguished Service awards. The 2016 gala will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, October 21, 2016 at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum. All UIS alumni are welcome. Stay tuned for more details and RSVP information.

Diploma Certificate

When the former Sangamon State University became the third campus of the University of Illinois in 1995, many alumni expressed the desire to obtain replacement diploma certificates reflecting the new identity of the institution.

UIS diploma certificates, with a presentation cover bearing the seal of the University of Illinois, are currently available through the Office of  Advancement for a $35.00 processing fee.

Homecoming

Homecoming is an annual tradition at University of Illinois Springfield that engages students, alumni, staff and faculty, as well as members of the community. We hope to see you at one of these great events!

Illinois Connection

Coordinated by the University of Illinois Alumni Association, Illinois Connection is the grassroots, advocacy network for the University of Illinois. Through this initiative alumni, students, faculty and friends serve as advocates for the University to ensure support from the state and federal government. By joining Illinois Connection, you will become part of a growing network of nearly 14,000 loyal alumni, students, donors and friends.

As a vital part of this initiative, you will decide your own level of involvement. You can choose to:

  • Share your “UI experience” with your personal and professional network
    Write your legislators an email during key decision making times
    Send a letter-to-the-editor in support of the University
    Meet with your elected official
