Fund that Supports the Child Protection Training Academy

The Child Protection Training Academy
In 2016, the Child Advocacy Training Academy at UIS acquired a small house where child advocacy investigators and UIS students can practice investigative encounters at a residential lab, designed to provide as realistic an environment as possible with quick and helpful feedback. To date, dozens of investigators have completed their training on at the residential lab, representing child advocates from throughout the state.
In addition a mobile courtroom for the program, currently housed in the UIS television station. At the courtroom, volunteers from the community including judges and retired attorneys take students and investigators through a simulated hearing.
This is one of UIS’ stellar outward-facing programs, providing training for students who will be investigators and current investigators from around the state. Your gifts make a difference for our most vulnerable citizens. Please give generously.
