Illinois Issues Fund
This fund supports the publication of Illinois Issues, UIS’ accolade-winning magazine dedicated to providing fresh, provocative analysis of public policy in Illinois with a special focus on state government and politics. Your support will help us maintain our high standards.
Legacy Endowment Fund
During recent months, with your support, we have been overhauling and modernizing the entire station and installing a state-of-the-art digital routing system. We need your help to do this, and in fact, if you are interested in having a role in our NPR Illinois upgrade, we have some special naming and other recognition opportunities available to you.
For more information, please use the Send Us Your Question link at left. You can also contact our NPR Illinois gift officer (and now interim director of WUIS) Randy Eccles.
Music Studio Gift Fund
With special thanks to Guerry Suggs, we now have the Suggs Performing Arts Studio, a one-of-a-kind Central Illinois venue for the creation of local programs recorded before a live audience. Whether it’s a classical guitarist demonstrating technique, a panel discussing statewide politics, or a person recording his or her own work, the Studio brings the community inside for a special experience.
If you would like to assist with bringing bring in the very best to the Suggs Studio and especially to reach and educate new audiences, please use the following link to give online.
Did you know that NPR Illinois helps bring books, magazines, and local newspapers to visually impaired people in central Illinois?
No, we don’t deliver books in Braille. We offer special free radios to people so they can listen to all these reading materials read by volunteers. You can’t hear these materials normally because the reading is sent out on a special sub frequency. Imagine what a wonderful program this is for people who can’t read otherwise. If you love reading, you can help us provide this service through your gifts which help support the upkeep of the equipment and radio purchases. Your gifts also help us pay for a coordinator’s salary.
We would like to provide our reporters with some additional equipment which will help them bring better stories while out in the field.
- Portable Equipment: A portable sound system will allow NPR Illinois to broadcast more cultural events and productions taking place outside the studios.
- Recording Equipment: Reporters will utilize the latest in digital recording technology.
Radio Station Fund
Thirty percent of NPR Illinois’ program and operating costs are paid for by listener support. Your gift to this fund keeps your favorite programs on the air in central and west central Illinois, and helps WUIS reporters and hosts create innovative and interesting programs that reflect our communities.
