Make a Difference for NPR Illinois | 91.9 UIS, Central Illinois’ Public Radio Station

If you are a fan of NPR Illinois, you are certainly familiar with our fundraising drives on the radio—and we hope you continue to support those!

We want to make you aware here of some very special giving opportunities for those of you who want to elevate your giving support to NPR Illinois.

Radio Station Fund

Thirty percent of NPR Illinois’ program and operating costs are paid for by listener support. Your gift to this fund keeps your favorite programs on the air in central and west central Illinois, and helps NPR Illinois reporters and hosts create innovative and interesting programs that reflect our communities.

Reporter Resources Fund

Your gift to this fund will provide our reporters with up-to-date equipment allowing them to bring better stories while out in the field.

Legacy Endowment Fund

Your gift to this fund adds to the permanent funding of NPR Illinois. The principle of an endowment stays intact, with support coming from the interest paid on the endowment, so your gift will have a lasting impact on the future of NPR Illinois.

Illinois Issues Fund

This fund supports the publication of Illinois Issues, UIS’ accolade-winning magazine dedicated to providing fresh, provocative analysis of public policy in Illinois with a special focus on state government and politics. Your support will help us maintain our high standards.

Radio Information Service: Bringing “Reading” to the Visually Impaired

Did you know that NPR Illinois helps bring books, magazines, and local newspapers to visually impaired people in central Illinois? No, we don’t deliver books in Braille. We offer special free radios to people so they can listen to all these reading materials read by volunteers. You can’t hear these materials normally because the reading is sent out on a special sub frequency. Imagine what a wonderful program this is for people who can’t read otherwise. If you love reading, you can help us provide this service through your gifts which help support the upkeep of the equipment and radio purchases. Your gifts also help us pay for a coordinator’s salary.
