A Strong Focus on Lincoln at UIS

The new Center for Lincoln Studies will be a national base at UIS for scholarship, teaching and public history about Lincoln’s life, leadership and legacy. You can give safely online to add your support for this important initiative.

The Center is an outreach of the UIS History Department. Plans for the Center are under development. It will include three areas of focus, explained below. Please feel free to contact the Office of Advancement with questions.

Scholarship and Learning

Lincoln’s Leadership and Legacy

  • A minor in Lincoln studies
  • A Lincoln Caucus in the Illinois General Assembly
  • Campus activities to encourage enthusiasm for American democracy and increase voter participation
  • Seminars and lectures to facilitate civil and informed discussions on national issues
