John E. Erickson Memorial Scholarship
- Create Your Own Fund
This fund provides money for special opportunities or extraordinary needs.
- Faculty or students can travel to a conference to present their research.
- Faculty can take part in a special opportunity to update their skills. Professors need to be aware of the latest developments in their field, so that they can pass this knowledge on to their students.
- The department can purchase special equipment, test materials, resources, or training modules to help our students attain success and achieve their goals.
These activities and others like them enrich our students immeasurably, enhancing the education they receive at UIS—but we could not do any of them without the discretionary money given to this fund.
John E. Erickson Ed.D. Scholarship
Dr. John E. Erickson was a passionate educator, having taught all levels of the field from elementary grades to university graduates. A firm believer that education was the key to democracy and freedom, Mr. Erickson influenced countless students in the education field. Along with his wife, Delinda A. Chapman, Ed.D., he was very active in the Springfield branch of the American Association of University Women. The John E. Erickson Memorial Scholarship was established by Dr. Chapman in memory of her husband. Applicants must be in good academic standing with demonstrated involvement in service to others. Preference is given to non-traditional female graduate students in Educational Leadership.
You could also create a scholarship fund, either a named current-use scholarship or a named endowed scholarship–that targets Educational leadership. Use the links to learn more about these opportunities.
As the principle donor of this new scholarship, you would get to name the fund and establish the selection criteria.
