Selected Funds that Support the Public Good

Alternative Spring Break

Each spring, UIS students take part in an Alternative Spring Break, during which they spend their week contributing their service to a cause.

Child Advocacy Residential Lab

The Child Advocacy Studies (CAST) program educates the next generation of mandated reporters, as well as professionals, in the child welfare field. Students have a chance to practice investigations in the Child Advocacy Residential Lab and witnessing in the mock courtroom on campus.

Illinois Innocence Project Fund

Gifts support Innocence Project activities at UIS. The Illinois Innocence Project has a three-part mission to evaluate and investigate innocence cases, to encourage criminal justice reforms, and to provide the public education about wrongful convictions.

NPR Illinois

UIS’ National Public Radio-affiliated station delivers in-depth multimedia news reports, expert analysis on statewide issues, audio/digital coverage of Illinois Issues – all upholding the philosophy and integrity of public journalism.

UIS Performing Arts Endowment Fund

Because the above fund is endowed, your gifts to either fund will never be spent; instead, income from your gifts will provide support for the Auditorium in the future.

UIS Visual Arts Gallery

Hidden at the end of University Science Building, UIS offers the campus and community a portal to a world of unique and varied visual arts shows–the UIS Visual Arts Gallery. You can support this very special learning and cultural space on campus with your gifts.

The Volunteer and Civic Engagement Center initiates, coordinates, and facilitates volunteer opportunities and endeavors for UIS students, staff, faculty, and the Springfield Community. Please give generously.
