UIS Baseball has a goal to develop a premier baseball stadium that will be recognized as one of the top NCAA DII venues in the Midwest region. The stadium will serve as a great asset to the community, fan base, alumni, donors, corporate partners, high schools, and many other benefactors.
The first step toward this premier baseball stadium was a synthetic infield turf, celebrated with a ribbon cutting on March 13, 2018. The turf provides a competitive advantage to the team, which is able to practice in inclement weather now.  In addition, the infield turf will be a major resource for the development of youth baseball in the Springfield community, and an outstanding recruiting tool for UIS.
You can have a role in future enhancements, which include a covered hitting and training facility, locker rooms and clubhouse, restrooms and concession area. For information on adding your support to the baseball facilities, you can contact Roy L. Brown, Deputy Athletics Director, by email or call 217.206.8547. Coach Ramirez’s Vision for UIS Baseball

Coach RamirezMy vision  for UIS Baseball is to compete at the highest national level, while also becoming a major resource for the development of youth baseball in the Springfield community.
Enhancements to our playing surface and backstop and expansion of our stadium will not only grow the UIS Baseball program but also impact youth baseball in our region.
Artificial turf will create a major competitive advantage as it will allow us to practice and play in all weather. If we improve our batting cages at the field, it will propel players to get out there and get extra work in.
It’s exciting to be a part of a growing baseball program that is so well supported by the campus and community.
